Daredevil declares war on H.A.M.M.E.R. because he suspects that Norman Osborn has removed the licenses of his dear friends Foggy Nelson and Dakota North. Using his personal army in the ninja clan the Hand, Daredevil declares New York City’s Hell Kitchen his to rule. How will Osborn respond to this challenge?

The way Daredevil stories have been crafted recently was to reuse every element established by Frank Miller and other noteworthy classic Daredevil writers and turn everything around Daredevil’s world on its head. That how we got Daredevil becoming a mob boss and Daredevil losing his identity and a host of other crazy things making people wonder how low can the character go? Although I like the angle of having Daredevil as the chief of the Hand, how much of this has been done just a few years ago when he was the head of the mob in New York City? Still, I really like what I read here and I’m sure this time that Daredevil has gone extremely low and that he should be arrested by some of his buddies in the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. He’s clearly a villain now. I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’m growing annoyed of Osborn’s involvement in this story and it seems a bit late in the game, given what’s happening elsewhere with the Siege and the Avengers.

De La Torre is great. I like how his work feels rainy and continues to give everything Daredevil related a unique look that cannot be found in most other super hero books. I’ve said it before. DC Comics had an opportunity to make Green Arrow a Daredevil type of book but failed after Brad Meltzer’s run. Here Marvel Comics keeps to the right formula with edging stories and iconoclastic artists.
