Daredevil continues to expand the Hand as a force to combat evil in New York City but he is close to crossing a line that will make him a villain instead of a hero. But he is more interested in threatening Master Izo instead of listening to his warnings. Elsewhere, the Kingpin continues to strengthen his criminal base but his plans include being able to resist both Norman Osborn and the Hood. What exactly has Daredevil’s old villain in mind?

Many things happen this issue, but it’s still a set up issue for more intrigues down the line. I liked the confrontation between Daredevil and Master Izo. A fight between the two would be great, but it might be better to see Izo as Daredevil’s reluctant conscience in a non physical confrontational role. This story is genuinely intriguing and I’m not sure where it’s going, but It’s quite a ride.

De La Torre is a good artist and keeps Daredevil in style which is appreciated. I particularly liked Hollingsworth’s colours. He creates palettes that feel like washes with too much light saturation. It’s great with the story as it gives it an aerie mood as if there is steam in the room.
