Daredevil # 93

Daredevil agrees to a Faustian deal he had disagreed with earlier - to get the charges against his old opponent, the Kingpin, to be dropped so the crime boss can get out of prison. If that sounded out of the ordinary, it’s nothing next to the fact that there is finally some normalcy in Matt Murdock’s life. Can trouble stay away long enough of Daredevil’s life?

Brubaker wrote the one story that many writers and readers dreaded. He closed the whole five years’ chapter that made Daredevil’s life a mess for the second time since creator Frank Miller started to fiddle around with his life. I didn’t know how anyone could ever put back the genie in the lamp with Daredevil’s secret identity exposed, safe for a massive mind wipe. It didn’t happen. Parts are still sketchy and weak. As Murdock says himself “A lot of people will probably always think I’m Daredevil.”

The artwork is fine and a great way to imagine Daredevil. It’s rainy and realistic at the same time. It’s not about dark shadows in corners, but more about the brownstones and rain drop. It’s great stuff.
