It’s Captain America and the Black Widow versus the new Beetle. The Beetle wants to destroy the secret identity of Captain America which now seems to be common knowledge by all. Behind the scenes, Baron Zemo who didn’t really die apparently is happy. Will Captain America survive the upcoming media onslaught?

While I like the attack on Captain America’s secret identity and tying in a gaping plot hole whereby the public never questioned who he was, this issue was mostly a boring fight with the Beetle followed by a boring interrogation. It’s really action oriented and moves fast. However, it felt like I was reading an old Marvel comic book from the 1970s where everything happened really quickly but did not matter all that much.

The dated feeling about this comic book must come from the new inker who turns Guice’s work into its weakest form. Guice is an artist that needs strong inkers. Here Magyar and Pennington gave us something that felt like I was reading a comic book drawn by Don Heck. All the mystery and mood of earlier issues in this series were replaced with quick action panels and poor inking.
