REDLANDS, California (September 17th, 2008) – Hallucination Productions announces their opening of, "Hallucinate 2008 Horror Fest," that challenges filmmakers to create a seven minute short that will scare the pants off of viewers, with the winner walking away with the cash grand prize.

"We’re encouraging all filmmakers to participate, especially students majoring in film," said Jon Kondelik, Co-Producer, Hallucination Productions. "This is a great opportunity for film students to practice creating a product under a deadline while having fun in the process."

The Festival opens to the public October 23rd, 2008 just in time for Halloween. Producer John Allison says, "The horror fest promises to be a wonderful night for us and the film makers involved. We are very excited to be putting on this festival for the first time, we are hoping to make it an annual affair."

Established in June 2008, Hallucination Productions was created by a group of young filmmakers who banded together to create the ultimate crew. Horror being their specialty, they try to branch out to other genres such as their recently premiered comedy, "Corpse Spy". This time they are back to their horror-filled roots.  They are making a few shorts for this festival, but their letting the film students compete for the grand prize.

"The range of filmmakers stretches from the Inland Empire all the way to Los Angeles County," says Co-Producer Jon Kondelik, "The best way to communicate is for filmmakers to log-on to our Myspace page." The page was created to keep the participants of the "Horror Fest" updated on official rules, orientation dates, and registration fees. Hallucination Productions is having Orientation in both the Redlands (Sept.27th) and Long Beach (Sept. 28th) to give the filmmakers a chance to meet the producers face-to-face. There, they can ask any questions they may have, meet other filmmakers and have a great time.

To submit a short film into the festival, a registration fee of $50 must be paid at Orientation. A few guidelines set for the films are: "keep language to a minimum, no nudity (sorry folks), no drug promotion and no racial slurs." Sounds like blood and gore is a must for this festival. Each short film runs up to 7 minutes maximum, which allows for more films to be accepted with a diversity of horror.

"We are collecting films on October 20th," said Producer John Allison. A night of fun, blood, guts and prizes what more could any horror fan ask for? To find out more info, please visit http://www.myspace.com/hallucinationproductions.
