DARK TOWER: THE LONG ROAD HOME

Midnight Openings to Take Place at Participating Retail Locations around the Country on March 5, 2008

Phenomenal Excitement Surrounds Second Story Arc of Comic Series that Explores the Journey of the Notorious Gunslinger Roland Deschain

To celebrate the launch of the second story arc of the comic book series adapted from Stephen King’s magnum opus, The Dark Tower, Marvel Comics will offer a midnight release of Dark Tower: The Long Road Home #1 the night of Wednesday, March 5, 2008.  Participating retailers across the country will open at midnight on Tuesday (effectively 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008) so Stephen King fans can get their hands on the next issue of this historic comic. A full list of participating retailers can be found at: http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.2663.

“The nationwide midnight release will continue the huge momentum and impression that this comic book series has made--and continues to have--on Dark Tower enthusiasts, comic book fans, and just about anyone who enjoys a compelling storytelling,” says Ruwan Jayatilleke, Vice President of Development, Marvel Entertainment, Inc. “Marvel is extremely grateful to comic book retailers as a whole for supporting this series---and this event!”

Under the direction and guidance of King himself, Dark Tower: The Long Road Home picks up directly after the events of Dark Tower: Gunsliger Born, with Roland Deschain and his ka-tet fighting for their very survival.  After the death of Susan, Roland and his companions try to make their way home, but after life changing events, one can never really go home again.  With the Big Coffin Hunters on their trail and visions of Susan's death dancing in Roland's head, seemingly nothing else can go wrong. The danger increases and Roland is forever changed when he falls into a coma and the people who burned Susan are determined to make him their next victim.
