As a small child, I drew a comic with an Ignatz-like mouse and a Tom & Jerry-like cat.  I loved creating this, without ever considering what would become of my actions.  The mouse would outwit the cat and often the cat would survive the explosion from a gift wrapped bomb.  It was pure love for an art form I was just discovering. Since then, I've developed a love for literature, film, fine art, comics, New York City, pop culture, and so on.

My main interest in comics is the alternative comic.  That is one of the reasons that found me living in Seattle, a city with a healthy "scene" appealing to cartoonists and other artistic types.  In time, I found my voice in comics and pursued a specific project in earnest, my graphic novel, Alice in New York.  In fact, I am nearing completion as I write this and hope to see it make a splash as a complete work in 2007.

Writing about comics brings together much in my life that I consider an utter joy.
