It is filled with mafia types, petty thieves, and everything in between, so Ergastulum
is a tough city. The law of violence takes precedence over the rule of law. Thirty-four-year-old Nicolas “Nic” Brown
and 35-year-old Worick Arcangelo
.” They are the guys who take care of the jobs no one else will handle – from mundane deliveries to extrajudicial killings.
As Gangsta, Vol. 7
(Chapters 35 to 41) opens, Marco Adriano
rushes off to rescue Constance
, prompted by a gruesome message. He ends up facing an old partner, the vicious Striker
, and Marco's pass is revealed in all its bloody glory. Also, the truth about the Corsica family and its connection to Twilights is another revelation. Meanwhile, Worick makes his first steps from recovery.
[This volume includes the bonus story, “A.H. – About Him.”]
There has not been a new volume of the Gangsta
manga in a year. Although the series continues its own violent and noisy rampage through its readers' imaginations, the flow of the narrative has been interrupted.
Luckily, Gangsta Volume 7
offers an intriguing look at a character with a lot of potential, Marco Adriano (who has his own spin-off manga). Now, I won't lie. I still prefer our leads, Nicolas and Worick, but creator Kohske has given Gangsta a lot of excellent secondary characters, some of whom can be stars.
Readers looking for stylish violence will want the VIZ Signature title, Gangsta
