It is Taisho era Japan (1912 to 1926). Tanjiro Kamado, a kindhearted boy, sells coal in order to support his mother and four siblings. After one particularly taxing trip to sell coal, Tanjiro returns to his home in the forest and finds his family slaughtered. He discovers that a younger sibling, his sister Nezuko, has herself been transformed into a demon by the unknown demon that killed his family. He becomes a Demon Slayer to find and destroy that demon.
As Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, Vol. 6 (Chapters 44 to 52; entitled “The Demon Slayer Corps Gathers”) opens, the Hashira, the leadership of the Demon Slayer Corps, gathers. They have captured Tanjiro and Nezuko, and seek to pass judgment on them, an inevitable path to at least Nezuko's death. However, “the man in the mansion,” Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the head of the Hashira, has another idea – faith in those who prove themselves.
Plus, it is a time of healing with Shinobu Kocho. Also, Muzan Kibutsuji, the ultimate demon, has a confrontational meeting with some of his “Twelve Kizuki.”
[This volume includes four-panel comics.]
