I really enjoyed this book because after skimming through it I decided there’s way too much cool artwork and story in it for just one browse. David Finch’s style seems to be heavily influenced my Marc Silvestri, but without so much crosshatching lines, which if put too much can detract from an already good drawing. A lot of people complain about hatch lines in artwork, but it doesn’t really bother me unless it’s really excessive.

Inside we have Aphrodite IX #0 and #1, Cyberforce vol.1 #16, Ascension preview, #0 and #1, Tales of the Witchblade #2, The Darkness vol.1 #39, and a David Finch art gallery with over 50 pages of his sketches and finished pencils! I especially enjoyed the gallery because I love looking closely at other artists raw pencil drawings and see how they draw, sometimes if the artist is talented like in David Finch’s case then I can pick up a few good things from it to help improve my own work.

The back of the book states this…

“Collected here is Dave’s finest Top Cow work including his earliest appearances on Cyberforce and his projects, Aphrodite IX and Ascension. We’re even including his issue of The Darkness as well as a gallery of pencils covers and more! If you’re a Finch fan, this is the book you’ve been waiting for!”

…Did I already say this?

Art – 8 of 10 – Very Beautiful!

Overall – 8 of 10 – Worth the buy, pick one up!
