DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT today released images and information concerning their newest addition to the ARMY OF  DARKNESS with a special cross-over, mini-series event, featuring DARKMAN!  The mini-series event begins in August,  replacing the regular DYNAMITE AOD series for that month, and will continue  bi-monthly until the mind-blowing final issue! "We've got  two great  characters, two great cover artists [the previously announced  George (Infinite Crisis/Brave and the Bold) Perez for issue #1 - and all 4) with AOD veteran Nick Bradshaw - what   great creators!," commented DYNAMITE  SPOKESPERSON J. ALLEN. "Fans will   be talking about this one for years to come, and as far as AOD cross-overs  go,  this is just the beginning --we have BIG, BIG plans for Ash in ’06 and ’07,  and we’ll be giving you the sugar, that’s for sure!" Co-Writer Kurt (“Superman”) Busiek, who  wrote the former comic book incarnation of DARKMAN for Marvel describes the  pairing “Kinda like Superman and  Batman, but this particular "world's finest" lives in a mixed-up, demented  world...”
Co-writer Roger (“Living Legend”  this guy’s written everything from Dr. Strange to Superman) Stern added that the “characters of  Darkman and Ash have already been pretty well established.  It's all a matter of weaving stories  that are faithful to both of them.”

AND artist James Fry, who worked with  Busiek during that original run at
Marvel, gets the final word: “I've been a fan  of All Things Raimi
since EVIL DEAD further disturbed my already deeply scarred  psyche. I
remember seeing Bruce Campbell's cameo as the Final Shemp at the end  of DARKMAN and thinking "Wow!!! Wouldn't it be cool if this guy met Ash???" As a  matter of fact, when Kurt and I are in our nineties and can no longer remember  which hole in our faces we're supposed to stick the food into, we'll still be  arguing over whose idea this whole project was in the first place!” It all begins in JULY, reserve your  copy today!

DARKMAN  VS. THE ARMY OF DARKNESS #1 (OF 4) (JUN063017) _BY STERN AND BUSIEK, ART BY JAMES FRY;  COVERS BY: GEORGE PEREZ, NICK BRADSHAW AND PHOTO
Dynamite  presents the cross-over no one thought they would ever see
Ash and Darkman as  we present Army of Darkness/Darkman #1!
Taking the  place this month of the regular AOD series, AOD/Darkman is a
new bi-monthly AOD  mini-series, featuring the creative team of the
legendary Roger Stern, Kurt  (“Superman”) Busiek and artist
James Fry! Joining this all-star creative team is  DC Exclusive artist
George (“Infinite Crisis”) Perez and AOD favorite Nick
Bradshaw on the issue #1 covers (we’ll also throw in a cool photo
cover!). It all  begins in August and wait until you see how we got these two together, and what  they’re going to do in this special mini-series
event! Don’t miss out and don’t  forget to ask your local retailer about the special incentive  covers! Dynamite  plans to support this release with house ads, online ads through Newsarama, and  prints ads in Comic Shop News!
