Clown Commandos have Landed on iTunes

New app lets comic lovers keep track of this elite force of clowns on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

A unique squad of heroes has marched into our world--with full Apple device compatibility! Clown Commandos come from an alternate universe where clowns evolved into elite soldiers. These heroes must survive in our reality where clowns are known as bumbling buffoons. A reality where the rubber nose is NOT a badge of honor.

Clown Commandos is one of the very few comic book titles created exclusively for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. While most comic book apps were once conventionally published titles, the Clown Commandos series has been created specifically for this medium.

"It's comic books taken to the next level," says the series' co-creator Michael Anthony Steele. "We write every issue with the iPhone and iPad's unique features in mind."

Comic book lovers have already discovered comic book apps but this innovative series sets itself apart by offering special features such as: interactive sound effects, exclusive content, and a creative story-driven interface for users. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Clown Commandos storyline is quirky, unique, and has a surprising depth for a comedy series.

Part G.I. Joe, part Ninja Turtles, and part Batman, the Clown Commandos fight crime, as well. But they take themselves very seriously while doing it. To them, there's nothing funny about being a clown. And therein lies the heart of the series' humor. No matter what kind of life or death struggle, no matter how evil the villain, Clown Commandos think nothing of taking down the bad guys with a well-aimed rubber chicken or a pie to the face.

"It is our goal that with this app we make Clown Commandos stories accessible to a growing community of tech savvy kids who deserve compelling comic content," noted Scott McFadden, the series' other co-creator.
