The summer speeds into action with Archie Comics—home to Archie & Friends, Stan Lee Comics, and the longest running video game-based comic book ever, Sonic the Hedgehog—as both Sonic titles, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe, catapult into brand new adventures!
As part of a new initiative started with the inception of the Sonic Universe title last year, the creative team behind the Sonic line of books at Archie Comics has made a commitment to fleshing out the world of the beloved character and his supporting cast with adventures that thrill!
On June 2, 2010 the original title will follow suit as Sonic the Hedgehog #213 marches into stores with the first issue of “Reigning Cats and Dogs.” It’s only the beginning for the two-part tale, as tensions mount from an ancient feud reignited!
With special guests Big the Cat and Froggy, Sonic must find common ground with the Wolf Pack and the Felidae to avoid setting off a powder keg! Their only chance is to recover a legendary source of great power, the Ancient Onyx! But can Sonic and Big save the feuding clans from themselves before it’s too late? Only Sonic the Hedgehog #214 can say!
For the first time in over a decade, Sonic the Hedgehog’s best friend and sidekick, Miles Prower, aka “Tails” the flying fox, must go solo to save his friends from the nefarious Battle Bird Armada!
“The Tails Adventure” features the first appearance of the Armada outside of the SEGA game of the same name, and surprise guest appearances from Sonic’s more recent past with exciting friends and foes.
Tails’ solo adventure takes off with the first of a four-issue storyline on June 16, 2010 in Sonic Universe #17 and soars through Sonic Universe #20! It’s an adventure SO BIG it dares to ask, “Who are YOU calling a sidekick?!”
Sonic the Hedgehog #213 will be in comic shops June 2, 2010 for $2.99 US/CAN.
Sonic Universe #17 will be available June 16, 2010 for $2.99 US/CAN.
