Castle Waiting Volume 2 #3

Castle Waiting, Vol. 2 #3 continues Chapter 4 of the Lady Jain storyline (carried over from #2).  Castle Waiting (Sleeping Beauty's former home) welcomes two visitors, Heinrich's brother Dayne and their nephew, Tolliver.  Simon Cully learns that his father and Tolliver's father were friends when they were younger.  The visitors have come to ask the "ladies of the Castle" for a favor, but what the favor is has to wait for the next issue.

Issue three is exactly like the other issues in this second volume of Castle Waiting, so it continues to be a high quality fairytale-inspired fantasy comic book.  Cartoonist Linda Medley is able to take a large cast of characters and still have each one stand out as an individual.  The series is like a TV serial drama or soap opera, and Medley's writing is as good as the best TV series writing.  Her naturalistic art has more than a passing resemblance to printmaking.
