CAPTAIN AMERICA #24: HOMELAND

Captain America races against time to hunt down a group of deadly, escaped prisoners and Fernand Hedayat, a political terrorist or hostage, from Guantanamo Bay - and prevent an attack of extreme magnitudes against Cuba.

Morales has managed to weave together a political story that is both, well told and engrossing. The character interaction is well thought out and is perfect for the situation Cap has found himself in. Diplomatic relations have to be kept, but when the atmosphere is thick with tension there is always a fine line between civility and hostility. The hunt is still on for Hedayat, but the stakes have been raised.

The thing that hit me most when I opened the book was the colouring. It was how issue #1 opened and seemed fitting for the situation. If you thought Cap looked big, wait until you see him next to Fury. Yeah things like the Sky Destroyer and the jeep seem blocky, but that's Batachelos style and it now it just clicks with the book. His armoured Captain America does look great and the cover has a defiant strength to it.
