Alex Ferrari (BROKEN) has no interest in making a by-the-book film.  He is going to make a film that looks like it was made with an 8 million dollar budget.  When in reality the budget was only 8 grand.  The visuals are dark, disturbing, sleek, and give the film a crisp, cool look.  The film is a great example of what you can do if you just use your imagination.  Is it time consuming?  I imagine so.  But the film product looks off the charts.  The kill scenes would make Michael Mann proud.

Short films are doing some amazing these days with little time or money. There is so many great minds out there and Alex Ferrari has the smarts, talent, and will power to make it happen.  I can only wonder what he could do with a real budget, real time, and a real feature.  The possibilities are endless.

The problem is that the story is not even in the same playing field as the visuals.  The story is thin, involving, and lacks any real teeth to give the visuals the justice they deserve.  The acting is extremely over the top and sometimes resembles something you would see out of a Sunday Morning cartoon villain.

Great visuals with a mediocre story makes this is an experiment in film-making that is better suited for feature film-making.  But it is a preview of some future talent.

Grade: B
