Boneyard Vol. 3

By Hervé St.Louis
March 21, 2005 - 13:17

The inheritor of a strange property with live-in monsters, Michael Paris agrees to the demand of the resident gargoyle to create a swimsuit special featuring the creatures. But for Abbey, the 2000-year-old vampire, blocking the sun’s devastating rays from her body is the least of her worries, as filthy rich Roxanne, a locale business woman is showing much interests in Michael.

Continuing where the last story ended, this volume is easy to understand, even without prior knowledge of the series. Each monster gets ample exposure. Moore builds up the tension between Abbey and Michael very well and even manages to show the implications of a human dating a vampire. The story ends on another high note making our guess where this soap opera will go next.

At first glance, Moore’s work looks repelling. That’s until one sits and read the story. If the first things that you catch are the less than beautiful female monsters, there’s a reason. The cover of the book doesn’t help either. However, Moore is a solid storyteller with strong inks. The girls in this book are not supposed to be perfect beauties. They are monsters!
