After many delays due to some having to upgrade to iOS 5, ComicBookBin for iPhones and iPod Touch was finally uploaded over a week ago to be reviewed before it's available for the public. This version mostly upgrades to iOS 5 and also adds notifications! yeah, notifications. Every time something new is published at ComicBookBin.com, you'll know about it. Like all notifications in iOS, you'll be able to control the frequency so don't panic too much if you start getting several notifications the first time you download or update to the new app. As a user you have total control on how often you receive notifications.

It's been a while since there's been an update because making app is never easy. A lot of testing is involved.

The other features of the app, such as our newsreader, our store locator and the convention listings haven't changed much and will continue to work as before. Our store locator is the only one that works all over the world. I personally tested it in Europe, China, the US and all over Canada. It really finds comic stores in your area.

Our conventions listing s are better than ever too. We actually update them more. It's not easy to do that as each of them must be added manually to a database. But we do it anyway and it works.

I've read reports that some people have problems using the store locator on an Android device. That's news to me. The store locator works quite well and I've tested it on several phones and tablets over the years. Every time I meet someone with an Android phone I get them to test it out.

You have to make sure your GPS and location services are turned on for the store locator to work. If it's not, it won't work because you haven't authorized it too. As a user, you're in control and that's how it should be.  Notifications and the store locators will only work if you allow them too.

If you have any problems about any of our apps, including the webOS one, send an email to support@comicbookbin.com

These apps are tested inside out before being released. If there's a problem we haven't caught, I want to know about it so that it can be fixed.

cheers
