One can say many things about the Bin, but one thing one cannot say is that we're a team of slackers! Our third version of our popular iPhone app is up right now. It's version 2.0, but we released version 1.0 and 1.5 just at the end of May 2010. So now we have version 2.0 which has a major upgrade and more features.
The biggest change in version 2.0 is the comic book convention calendar which we rebuilt completely. Previous versions lack interactivity. You could see the conventions but that was about it. In version 2.0, the calendar is totally interactive and works with your calendar app, Outlook, GMail calendar and many other utilities and program that can read a calendar event. So that means that you can add both whole conventions and specific scheduled events within these conventions, like book signings, and panels to your personal calendar app, whether it's on your iPhone, iPod Touch, your desktop or a cloud-based service. You can even email these calendar reminders to friends!!
The next big change in ComicBookBin 2.0 is the multiple location store search. We've had enough feeback from users requesting the feature and we listened. Now, you can search for stores in other cities so you can plan your next trip and know where all the comic book stores are located! I tend to forget that feature because it,s been on my personal beta copy for quite a while and I use it so often, that I forget that it's a new addition for the rest of the world!
The next big thing with ComicBookBin 2.0 is the improvement in the visuals / the icons. You may have seen them on the Android images we posted earlier this week. They're the same and they look much better than those in V1.0.
Speaking of Android, by now you should know about the Android and webOS releases of ComicBookBin that should arrive very very soon. My plan was to have all thre versions released at once. V2.0 for the iPhone and V1.0 for Abdroid and webOS who by the way will all most of the same core features, which include the revamped calendar and the multiple city store locator, next to our news reader.
Stay tuned, this is gonna get much better.
