It's a special story of parenting as Batman takes the magic potion given to him by Ra's al Ghul and gets to walk around Gotham with his dead mother. Meanwhile, the mysterious Nyssa goes through the process of killing and resurrecting Talia again and again for still-unknown reasons even while Nyssa has flashbacks about her relationship with Ra's.

It is not the exciting page-turner Rucka clearly wanted it to be. In fact, there is very little action in this tale. What it does have is mystery and a look into the minds of Batman and Ra's. Some of the words and actions of Batman's mother may sound out of place but as the reader doesn't know whethe she is truly a ghost or just a hallucination, it doesn't hurt the integrity of the story. Those who came in late and missed the earlier part of this tale might find the story a little slow but if you were reading this miniseries from the start, you will be reeled in even further into the mystery.

Janson's art is a good combination to the story, giving each scene its own unique tone while maintaining his trademark style all throughout.
