ComicBookBin 1.0 for Android just wasn't good enough. I don't like bad apps and this one was not where I wanted it to be. So it's late. Still working on it. Development on all other platforms takes a back seat until I can get ComicBookBin 1.0 for Android out the door. I've worked very hard on this release so far and I'm not about to stop. That's all I did all day and my entire weekend. That's all I'll be working on this week too. I'm obsessed, I admit it, but no platform will be left behind.

I wasn't much a fan of Android before I got my Nexus One. I really like Palm webOS' interface. I still think that using a Palm Pre is much easier than using any other smartphone out there, including an iPhone. It's just more elegant.

But whereas Android lacks elegance, the hardware is superior. My Nexus One is a solid piece of smartphone and I'm sad to see Google canceling the line and getting rid of its last batch. It's the best looking phone I have had.

Android has grown on me. It feels raw compared to an iPhone or a Palm Pre, but it has many cool features for people who like to customize their phones like hell. I believe the interface we've developed for Android for ComicBookBin was unique and not a clone of anything else. I like that. I want users who download our app to say, yeah baby, this app was made for my phone. It's not a clone taken from the iPhone or the Palm. It does its thing the way it only makes sense for Android.

I've only just begun playing with some of the features in Android. No I won't list them because otherwise you guys will think I'm adding them and I don't want to raise false hope. The first release of ComicBookBin 1.0 for Android has the same basic features available on the iOS and webOS phones. It includes the newsreader, the store locator and the comic boom convention calendar. But I do have some cool ideas that are Android-only and are already in development. After 1.0 is out, these will become possible.
