It’s Thor versus Doctor Doom as the Asgardian god wants to avenge the deceased Asgardians transformed into cyborgs by Doctor Doom. But Doctor Doom is not an idiot and he is ready to defeat Thor using his own powers and an old enemy of Thor that he cannot possibly defeat. Will Thor avenge the dead Asgardians and stop Doctor Doom?

If I had any fears about this new creative team, most of them are gone. I’m still not the biggest supporter of Tan’s work, but it’s suitable for this series. It’s hard to replace Coipel and his idiosyncratic characters. But Tan’s storytelling is not bad at all. The story read quite well and he obviously can deliver super hero epic well.

Gillen is a great writer and thus far, I will admit that he could be a good fit for this series. Michael Straczynski’s pace was quite slow while Gillen moves faster but continues to use the foundation left behind by the previous writer. I like how Doom uses the same trick to fool various Asgardians and it works every time! Thor is still a series worth reading even with this new team.
