The Mighty Thor #6

This is the conclusion of the war between  Asgard and Galactus who wants to consume the worldheart to appease his hunger. But the human priest who was marshalling a war against the Asgardian wants to have a word with Galactus before he can consume the seed that is if Loki doesn’t get involved first.

I didn’t like this story. I honestly don’t know what I read. Matt Fraction is losing it on all the comics he writes these days. One issue, his work is marvellous, the other, it is pure crap. This one is crap. It’s an anti-climatic conclusion as the Silver Surfer tries to make everyone happy and recruits himself a new replacement herald. This story makes no sense and if it weren’t for the work of Coipel, I would drop this series.

Is it just me, or is Coipel shrinking the heads of his characters even more than before. Thor towards the end of the issue looked like a his head belonged to a midget. It was so compressed, it made no sense. I like how Coipel draws all the regular folks, Volstagg, Galactus and the Silver Surfer, but I like his Thor less and less. I hate it when artists become caricatures of themselves. However, I have to say that with the head compression thing, the Silver Surfer really looked like he had been drawn by Jack Kirby.
