This is the second part of a story which has the ghostly Deadman seeking the help of Nightwing and Hawkman to liberate the mystical land of Nanda Parbat from an army of evil ghosts.

In the first part of this tale, Deadman tried to get Green Arrow to help but he only got captured and spends this issue largely getting tortured by an evil magician. Despite their minimal experience with magic, both Nightwing and Hawkman are up to the task, fighting against overwhelming odds to get at the big bad guy who is behind the whole mess.

There is nothing earth-shaking about this tale. There is no big change in the characters, nothing that will shock and amaze the readership and set the Internet chattering.

But what we get is a solid, well-told story that swiftly summarizes the first part of the story, gives the heroes a very formidable threat to overcome and then shows them defeating the villain in a truly clever and surprising manner.

The art complements the story well, letting the reader know exactly what is happening while still capturing the mood of danger and desperation. Nightwing's acrobatics look very impressive. All the scratchy lines do get distracting and Hawkman's mask looks a bit askew but other than that,  this issue looks very good.

Nightwing's role as one of the most trusted superheroes in the world is employed well and this issue is his chance to shine. Hawkman largely just acts as Nightwing's back-up but he certainly makes for an intimidating presence. And he ends the story getting one up on Green Arrow.

Rating: 8 /10
