Street Fighter Legends Sakura #4
Udon Comics
Writer: Ken Siu-Chong
Artist Omar Dogan
Cover: Alvin Lee, Alvin Lee, Susan Luo

It’s the showdown between Sakura and Karin that will determine which is the best martial artist. However, as seen last issue, Karin cheated by getting one of her aide to munch all the hotdogs from the hotdog eating contest. Sakura, filled with wieners and buns cannot sustain the fight. To make matters worst, Dan wants to exact his final vengeance against Sakura, proving that he is the best Street Fighter of all.

This issue is as funny as the others and concludes the spotlight on Sakura on a high note. Sakura, as handled by this team is shown to be a humorous and vibrant teenager with a crush on Ryu. Sakura is a little aloof about what happens to her, but then, this quality is shared by most of the antagonists in this series. Although not a deep and complicated plot that one will remember, this series is a good read for younger and older comic book readers.

The artwork is the delight of this comic book. Much care was taken to make it flow naturally with the story. As most of the intrigues are visual, Dogan is a perfect partner to Siu-Chong. Having the series rely on strong storytelling to carry the comic book was a good decision. There is so much happening in all panels that it more than make up for the sparse texts. Moreover, although the comic book is filled with Easter egg type moments, none overtake the principal trust of the story.

7/10
