While Martian Manhunter attempts to recruit Apollo and Midnighter, the rest of Stormwatch are battling the Moon which has become sentient and will attack the Earth unless something is done to stop it. Is it too late for Stromwatch to intervene?

This comic book is too convoluted. I know that I often complain about the stretched out storylines in comic books, but really, packing so much is not a solution either. The problem is that most of the stuff packed in is boring and not interesting. There’s a mental debate here between a character named Adam which I don’t quite know well enough, being new to the world of Stormwatch, and some giant eye entity. The parts with Midnighter, Apollo and the Martian Manhunter were the most interesting to me, but they were limited. I have to say that I don’t like seeing the Martian Manhunter being someone else’s lapdog and saying how his boss is so cool. That’s not the Martian Manhunter to me.

I think the writer should have just jumped into the actual fight with Midnighter and Apollo kicking ass instead of all the mental hoopla with a giant eye.

Sepulveda renders a great comic book, but he may have added to the complexity of reading the pages and the convoluted nature of the comic book.  His work reminds me of Bryan Hitch which is a good thing. However, his inker may not be the most appropriate for his work. I’m not sold on this series yet and I think this will be my last issue. That’s too bad because I really wanted to enjoy it.

Rating: 5 /10
