The Bin runs afoul of children's book author Michael Wilhelm's Aromatic Avenger, Skunk-Guy!
In Michael Wilhelm's first "Official Skunk-Guy Adventure,"
Norman & The Stinking Space Goo, average teenager Norman Flinch accidentally crashes his lawnmower into a noxious goo-filled meteorite and becomes the smelliest kid to have ever lived. His
family can't even stand it! Alone and reeking of cosmic pungency, Norman seeks the aid of his classmate Wendell Higgins, a sort of
Dexter's Lab-ish young genius and nerd of epic proportions. What the two boys discover, after running a few farcical lab tests, is the potential to turn this balm into a blessing. Adopting the persona of Skunk-Guy, Norman uses his stalwart stench to take criminals down by their vulnerable nostrils. Wilhelm's second installment of the Skunk-Guy story,
Skunk-Guy: The Sensational Slime Saga, pits the stinking stalker against a strange slime creature from the sewers.
These books may sound absolutely ridiculous, perhaps even repulsively redolent, to some of you, but I have to admit, they were absolutely great reads. I highly recommend these for young teenagers and preteens as Wilhelm's writing caters to that general reading level. Your kids will probably find these stories hilarious. Full of silliness and utterly wild and witty adventure, a grown-up may even find him/herself chuckling aloud as I did while reading these charmingly clever novellas.
