Two stories for the price of one. That’s a value comic. Subjectively it increases in value based on the nostalgic factor. For those comic book readers that remember the cartoon series by the same name, before it jumped the Scrappy shark, the tone of the comic does a nice homage to the cartoon.

The first story features the infamous line that has virtually become part of our pop culture. “I would have got away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.” Quick aside, a more appropriate phrase may be ”if it wasn’t for that meddling dog” as SCOOBY is the star.

Anyhow the first story is a car wash mystery with the obligatory monster. Of course the gang resolves this case by end of the first part as both the cartoon and comic are procedural in nature.

The second story focuses on Velma and does a decent job of spotlighting her as a character.

My final thoughts on this issue are just comments that as the tone matches the show, so does the art do an admirable job APING cartoon in style and merit.

Rating: 7.5 /10
