At Sunday's SDCCI panel, Doctor Who producers Piers Wenger and Beth Willis and writer Toby Whithouse were accompanied by the BBC TV series' stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, the Doctor and his companion Amy Pond. The panel reveled in the ambiance of sonic screwdrivers and a Q&A line of Daleks, weeping angels, and River Songs, and answered questions about who they'd love to see guest write Who (a question answered almost unanimously with the late Roald Dahl) and who their favorite Whos were, but perhaps most importantly they gave us a glimpse at the upcoming conclusion to Doctor Who series six.

Whithouse presented a trailer for his upcoming episode, "God Complex," in which the Doctor battles a minotaur. Here is the link for BBCA's official trailer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/videos/p00jcqqq

The panel also showcased a trailer for the entire series, which astoundingly featured a lot of WWII Germany images, including an inadvertent rescue of Adolf Hitler. Here is BBCA's trailer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/videos/p00jb05r

Come along pond!
Thanks for the update on the good doctor and crew, Dan. Going to enjoy looking at those trailers. And R Dahl as a guest writer would have been so cool! The Neil Gaiman episode was a very pleasant surprise this season I have to say. Looking forward to the conclusion of this season, it's going to be mega. :)

Pat,
You're welcome, Pat! I'm fairly new to the Doctor Who phenomenon (Yikes! I don't know if I should have admitted that!), but the trailers gave me chills nonetheless. I'm excited to see how they wrap up series six. The panel also spoke to the Gaiman episode, and the mention received a lot of applause. I'd love to see more writers, like Mike Carey or Ian Churchill, have a go at writing episodes for the Doctor. But, Dahl would have been perfectly suited for the series. Could you imagine?
