The
recent delay of Electronic Arts and Harmonix's new music rhythm
game,
Rock Band
, has been quite
a confusing one for Canadians. One of the main reasons for this was
the fact that it wasn't officially announced in the first place.
Another was EA's silence about the whole thing – yes, we're still
waiting to hear back for the official reason behind the delay –
that is, aside from announcing the new Canadian release date. Most
recently though, Canadians became confused, and some even a bit
aggravated, by the release details some of
them were seeing or hearing at certain retailers.

Thankfully, as we were informed earlier today by a video games associate at a local retailer, Rock Band has in fact made it to Canadian shores, only a day late and right in time for Christmas – at least for those lucky enough to snag a copy. He happened to mention the amount of units that came in the store today and they are, well, rather disappointing. That particular store received a shipment of two Special Edition copies of the game for Playstation 3 and four for Xbox 360. As for the Playstation 2 version of the game, he said he didn't expect it to arrive until January. With these kinds of shortages expected for some time to come, it is likely that there will be a number of unsatisfied and highly disappointed shoppers – at least those looking to pick up a copy of Rock Band – this holiday season. You'll have to check with your local retailer to find out their price for the game.
