Looking for an extra villain? Looking for someone to go toe-to-toe with Wolverine? Looking for an action figure from your past but not necessarily from a comic book? Then look no further than for Baraka from Mortal Kombat. I figured I had a few mutants to help out Magneto in his Brotherhood, but what about some decent Horsemen for the mad Apocalypse?  After searching the ailes in Kay-Bee a few months back I found what I wanted and I figured that Baraka would fit the bill. Standing next to Omega Red and Mr Sinister, the bladed mutant from the realm of Outworld looks like he fits right in.

Baraka is one of four figures from the first series of the Mortal Kombat toy line. While Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden all look cool, they just didn't have the extra "ummph" or "hutzshpah" that Baraka has. Baraka looks the best of all the Mortal Kombat figures. He has that evil look that a villain should have. He comes with two extra long blade that attach to his arm for when it is time ot slice and dice an enemy. They are removable so make sure you don't lose any pieces. He is pretty well articulated as well. His elbow joints are double pins like a Marvel Legends figure, and his legs are poseable, but since it is not all ball jointed, they do have limitations. You can even use the arm blades for some leaning attack poses.

I do not know if there will be any more Mortal Kombat figures to be made, but to me, Baraka is the best one to own. I bought mine from Kay-Bee for a measely five bucks and change. You can't beat that. That is what I feel all action figures should cost, but who am I but a consumer? the Mortal Kombat figures are little bit smaller than most DC Direct, Marvel Legends, and Mattel's DC Super Heroes toys, but that is just a minor thing. Baraka is well detailed and is fun for anyone looking to add a psychoatic humanoid who likes to cut down his enemies to there super hero toy ranks. I highly recommend this action figure.
