First of all the art in this comic is like a screencap of the television cartoon printed or digitally rendered. In other words reading this comic is like watching the classic show on mute and in slow motion; my hat is off to the artists for remaining true to the Looney animation style in their art.

As I said much like the classic cartoon the comic is an anthology consisting of three stories a short first tale, a longer middle one and a short closer.

One of the classic(sorry to repeat that but if it’s true it's true), cartoons was Duck Dodgers of the 24th and ½ century, and DC and WB aren't fools. Open strong.

Porky gets a promotion thereby outranking Daffy, er Duck Dodgers. Friction ensues on the following mission. And there is a cameo by everyone’s favourite rabbit.

Maybe the humour is juvenile, or simple but it follows the spirit of the show. The jokes are not as quite as funny in a different medium but it is still a visual medium so it doesn’t lose too much besides a little rhythm.

In the second story Foghorn Leghorn and Marvin the Martian take centre stage. Although I used to love Foghorn as a kid this second tale falls a little flat. The premise is sound after so much interaction with Bugs it should be hilarious to have him interact with Foghorn. However like the previous tale this one missed notes as it was a comic instead of a cartoon. Part of the humour behind Foghorn is hearing his voice.

Finally we round out this issue with another Foghorn story guest starring the dog and weasel. Thankfully this was a short p.s. as it was almost painful adapting these characters to comic book form.

I loved Looney Tunes as a kid and the comic has some nostalgia factor going for it but as a read it is very much ho-hum.

Rating: 5 /10
