Hawkman and Hawkgirl fight off a Thanagarian invasion and then settle down for some rest and relaxation just before the end of the universe-- and the retitling of this comic. Perhaps because the story is so simple and personal that it actually moves quite well despite the large cast and the rather forced crossovers. In the face of impending doom, the Hawks are flying, they are fighting and finally, they are.... well, the important thing is they work well and look good together. The art is well done, keeping all the characters recognizable even in huge crowd scenes. It is ideally-suited for a combination of action and sci-fi. Even the surprisingly sensitive cover is a marked improvement over previous issues. It is intriguing, easy to understand without being sleazy.
