DC brings it’s a team to the conclusion of the latest Hal Jordan story arc. The Green Lantern Corps (led by John Stewart) is joined by the Sinestro Corps (led by Sinestro’s daughter Soranik) in battle against Larfleeze and his lackey, Brainiac. (Yes, THAT Brainiac.) But fear not (Ha! See what I did there?), because Hal Jordan and the White Lantern (Kyle Rayner) and two Guardians are on their way to assist.

Is there any way Larfleeze can stand against their combined might? Certainly not (hardly a spoiler, the good guys always win). But what are the consequences of their victory? Who will pay a heavy price? Well, that would be telling.

Ethan Van Sciver returns to the art chores, aided and abetted by Jason Wright. Together, they make a most excellent team, and I look forward to the day when every issue of a Green Lantern title is drawn by Van Sciver. He’s built an admirable legacy on the franchise, and that effort should not go to waste. Unless of course he moves on to another franchise to make his own.

What’s next for the Green Lanterns? Well, only Robert Venditti knows for sure. But he’s laid some pretty respectable foundations for future elements of the Green Lanterns. I just hope he hasn’t exhausted his bag of tricks.
