Earlier
today,
team
Stacked Like Pancakes posted a perfect 5-0 record en route to
claiming the
Gears
of War
four-on-four title
at
the 2007 Ford MLG Canadian Open, taking place this weekend at nDEX:
Northern Digital Expo at the Direct Energy Centre in downtown
Toronto. The American-based team, which features Kenneth “CrReam”
Lawson of Middle Island, New York, David “IDLYI” Lyons of Erie,
Pennsylvania, Manuel “Scar” Roman of Brooklyn, New York and Ryan
“TAKEDOWN” Watson of Cape Cod, Massachusetts came out on top
against a field of 33 squads to capture the first place prize of
$2,400.
Canadians
were also well represented in the
Gears of War
four-on-four competition, as team nUcLeaR WaVe, which features three
Canadians and one American, finished in second place. Together, Filip
“1xDiemastyxl” Djukovic of Toronto, Jared “nW Cold Fusion”
Hoose of Honeoye Falls, New York, and Alex “nW RawR” Pereira and
Trevor “nW wOOt” Rostron of Burlington, Ontario took home $1,600
for their second place finish. Also, six of the top eight teams that
competed in the
Gears of War
four-on four competition featured Canadian gamers.
