A little more than a year ago, at E3 2006, Sony showed off an insane, detail rich, high definition trailer for Killzone 2 as part of its Playstation 3 preview conference. Unfortunately, since then, we haven't heard much about the game, if anything at all. All that has now changed, because yesterday Sony finally confirmed that the game is in development and is set to release in 2008. Killzone 2 will throw players right back into the battle between the ISA and the Helghast army, following the events of the original Killzone. Those who saw last year's trailer for the game probably remember how ultra realistic it looked, how much was going on all at the same time and how lifelike the A.I. was. This year's trailer was no less spectacular, showing off just as much detail, action and lifelike A.I. The only difference between last year's trailer and what people saw at E3 this year; this year's look at the game was an on stage demonstration of the game in action.

Sony says the game sets a new standard for next-gen gaming by delivering all of the intense warfare action, incredibly lifelike character animation, highly detailed and destructible environments, realistic physics and highly advanced A.I. all at the same time. Folks, this could be the PS3 game you've been waiting for. To check out all of the new Killzone 2 footage, head over to GameTrailers.com.
