Daken, the Dark Wolverine taunts his teammates as he enters the great Siege of Asgard making casualties on both sides. But Daken’s fate is under observation by mysterious women in some mystical realm. Daken is described as a bringer of Ragnarok. Daken is a on a roll and decides that he’s gonna back stab his biggest catch thus far – Norman Osborn. Will Osborn survive the encounter?

This issue is disruptive and I like it. I had no idea that this would happen in this cryptic little series about a fake Wolverine that is detestable and that has not grown on me yet. Cartoonist Darwyn Cooke said in a recent interview that when portraying bad guys, as main characters that making their world and supporting characters appear worse than they are is the way to get readers to identify with them to some extent. This is not what is done here. Daken is just a sociopath and he’s the worse thing in this series. He just kills for fun and he always seems to come up on top. I wish they would destroy him already, but as he has his father’s powers and seem quite popular, one can expect him to stick around for a long time.

Camuncoli’s work has seen better days when it was inked by Sandra Hope in the Intimates for Wildstorm and DC Comics. Here, his work looks rough and dirty. Yet he is a great artist with the ability to draw great facial expressions. I wish Catacchio would not deform his work so much and make it so angular. It’s really amazing how an inker can totally change an artist’s work. Here the artwork looks like it was drawn by Keith Giffen instead of how it normally looks like Jim Lee.
