Bucky Barnes, the new Captain America has received his orders in his face off against Baron Zemo. Lie low and stay away from trouble. But the impulsive Avenger has other ideas and falls right into a trap set by Zemo in an old military base. Can Captain America defeat an enemy with better defenses and weapons?

This story is not as bad, although I miss the crime noir feel of the early Captain America series. It’s time for another reboot or something to shake things up a bit. I know Brubaker has it in him to do great stories for this character, but right now, although this issue was better than past ones, he still hasn’t got his groove back. But there’s enough good stuff to keep me interested.

Now, the artwork is another matter. I’m not sure what happened. It’s the same regular team, yet it looks so different and uninspired. It felt like I was reading a Captain America comic book from the 1970s with the angst in the character’s face and the melodramatic poses. Maybe it’s the inking, or the colours that aren’t making Guice’s work look better.

Rating: 7 /10
