Massacre attacks an old hero from the Kingdom, Thunder Fall, and it’s up to Batwing still injured from his encounter last issue to save the day against the maniacal murderer. Can Batwing save Thunder Fall?

I was surprised about this comic book. Again, I didn’t read the first issue, so it was important for me to be able to jump in right away. This book was easy for me to follow although I didn’t read the first issue. I had heard that this book was crappy and was expecting nothing good. I was pleasantly surprised. It really feel like an African super hero and all the motivations and locales feel right, from the little that I know about Africa. It’s an interesting premise too and much more closer to the real Africa than the Black Panther and the fictional kingdom of Wakanda. I liked that the issues the characters face are rooted in current African problems. There is a gold mine of stories that can be told here. I don’t mind Batwing, but he still feels like a generic character. Although he has a lot of internal monologues, he is very bland to me. But that’s ok because the rest of the story is not.

Visually, this series works. The painted style is very dynamic and the artwork delightful.

Rating: 8 /10
