I was surprised to hear this week that the sound issue I wrote about in my review of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was, in fact, a glitch. As it turns out, the surround sound feature of the game is not non-existent, as I wrote in my review, but missing. I am, however, more surprised that I did not hear about this sooner, as it appears that the issue has been well discussed on many a website since as far back as two days after the game's launch.

But what to do if you've got one of the faulty discs? Not to worry.

Activision has been on the job since the issue first appeared, preparing new discs with the surround sound feature properly activated. The company says it expects to have the replacement discs available some time in February. Signing up to get a replacement disc for the game is as simple as going to www.activisiongameexchange.com and filling out the replacement request form. Alternatively, you can call Activision at 1-866-780-8286 from 8:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday to Friday.
