"NEW MUTANTS" sees a final battle between the X-Men and the Sentinels in the heart of Washington, D.C. How will the not-so-merry mutants deal with the awful aftermath?
This was a real surprising issuing that had you hooked from the start. Bendis not only told a story that evolved in many logical ways, but still surprised you. He also told a story that is bold in the respects that the end result is finial. The situation and its aftermath were handled extremely well, especially the Government subplot. This story will have reverberating repercussions throughout fandom. And if you think about it, that's what a good story aims to do.
Finch really excels here; it seems he's got better with each issue. This story goes from high action, to high emotion and its all handled with aplomb by Finch. We get to see Storm let loose with her powers and it's a magnificent sight. And the way we get drawn into the feelings of the characters is a big plus of the story. We can't give all the credit to Finch though, as all the art team do an excellent job with colouring and inks too.
