With a quarter-million super-powered beings in the world, someone's got to watch what's going on beneath all those masks and capes. In a U.S.A. uncomfortably like our own, that task falls to The Boys, a government-funded group of operatives dedicated to keeping the "supes" in line.

Butcher doesn't like Super-beings, in fact...He hate's them. Issue #1 of The Boys introduces us to their leader, known only at the moment as "The Butcher" - as well as make's us understand the need for such a group. The Boys is some pretty hardcore stuff, I think it's one of those cases where you go over the top intentionally, simply to make a point. It was pretty strange to see a typical looking Super Hero within the same page's of extreme Violence, Sex, Language and gore. This is a good thing, because it brings a realness to a world that is normally assumed to be without wrong, which is the very point this Comic is trying to make - Just because you put on spandex, and act like a hero, doesn't give you the right to go out and do whatever you want. Nor does it mean that a hero will alway's follow the path of one.

I have a feeling this is going to be a great series, it's alternative take on the world of Super hero's should be appealing to everyone. The Boys is an original concept about a classic theme, sounds like a winner to me.
