Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced the release of SingStar Queen today. This latest installment in the popular Playstation karaoke franchise puts you into the shoes of global rock legend Queen, letting you perform some of their biggest hits, like We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, We Will Rock You, Bohemian Raphsody and more, all in the comfort of your living room.

SingStar Queen was developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's London Studio in collaboration with the band and Hollywood Records and features over 20 songs. “Queen and SingStar both have a wide and diverse global fan base,” said Charlie D’Atri, marketing director at Hollywood Records. “We are thrilled to collaborate with SCEA on SingStar Queen to offer PlayStation fans the unique opportunity to become a part of rock history with the best interactive singing experience available set to the legendary music of Queen.”

Sony's also upping the community and customization features for the Playstation 3 versions of SingStar this September, with two new features. The first of the two features will be a new video editor, allowing players who have the Playstation Eye to turn the best 30 second clips of their performances into mini music videos, using a small suite of editing special effects to add to the clip. The clips can then be added to the My Singstar Online community for everyone to enjoy (or make fun of if that's your thing).

The second new feature will allow players to connect like never before, thanks to the franchise's newest social feature, SingStar Clubs. You'll be able to start or join Clubs in which they can network with the national SingStar community as they share their latest videos, check out online charts from their club and relive their favourite SingStar experiences.

SingStar Queen is available now for Playstation 2 and Playstation 3, but is not available as a bundle with the Singstar microphones. Singstar Queen is rated T for Teen.
