This is a very cloak and dagger issue and I don’t mean the characters. Everyone seems to be holding things back and manoeuvring others into a positioning that fits their plans. Jean seems to be not telling Scott everything and the President is getting played like a piano. We meet two new mutants this issue as well. Unfortunately we don’t find out who Hank was talking to at the end of issue #41, but I have a feeling it might have been the last person we see!?!
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the art that just doesn’t seem right. Well, everything outside really, the rest was OK. The scene in the alley displayed a good use of shadows. And the shots within the ‘Situation Room’ were good as well. The sense of secrecy and deception was definitely felt with these panels. I liked the cover, you can never have enough Storm :)
