Continuing the Dead@ saga, Nara wakes up in the home of an old friend of Noel, who prefers to serve his congregation rather than fight the undead. This new ally, Winston pressures Noel into revealing his real link to Nara and to let her go to her destiny. Hazy, still a captive of Nara’s opponents suffers more torture. Meanwhile the police may have found out about Nara’s new id.

Howard continues to weave his tale, and just like the third issue of the first mini-series, he prepares the battle ground for the shocking conclusion of the series. There’s not much action since everything is a preparation for issue #4. As there are many threads that need to be wrapped up, it’ll be fun to see what happens.

Artwise, Howard’s work is consistent. There are less speech bubbles cramming their way into his panels, so that’s an improvement over the last issues. Howard is also experimenting with more sequential structures in his storytelling. It’s always a joy to see artists got that way and diminish their reliance on head shots and random page composition.
