The Pulse #4 "THIN AIR"

As tensions between the Bugle and Norman Osborn mount, what side will Peter Parker take? Featuring the Ben Urich moment you've been waiting for for twenty years!!

After the phone call that Ben made last issue, it was interesting to see the ramifications. I wonder if he envisioned that it could all end in death!?! Ben and Peter worked together for ages, but Spider-man and Ben, now that's a different dynamic. Bendis constructed this conversation with thoughtful progression. It was natural in its flow and helps breathe humanity into the characters. All the other conversations hold this same ingredient. And it was good to see Luke talking to Jessica and at the ball court.

Bagley has this great ability of being able to project a character's emotions in a way that you wouldn't need any text to gauge it. This is really true with the Luke, Jessica conversation. And the dream sequence was a nice touch, it resonated shinny happy. The last three pages really caught my attention though. Everything from the wisps of smoke, the looks of realisation, it really captured the moment. Love the cover as well, the whole Goblin, newspaper thing was a good touch.
