These rankings are compiled from the top 3 vote-getters of 31 different voters on the Internet for comics released on May 26, 2004.
1. DC: The New Frontier #4, 28 pts

Another excellent issue of characterization, now with a more intriguing plot. I don't agree that everything done here should have been done, but I do agree that all of it was done well.
2. The Flash #210, 27 pts

Another excellent issue. The hallmark of this comic, its characterization of villains, continues while excellent characterization of heroes has been added as well. Johns is producing his finest work right now.
3. Astonishing X-Men #1, 17 pts
"I hadn't bought an X-Men comic in over a decade, but I picked this up 'cos of Whedon and Cassaday. I'm glad I did. The story's straightforward, so even though I don't know all the backstory I get what's going on. It reminded me of how accessible and enjoyable the X-Men once were." ishmael1st, DC Message Boards
4. Superman #205, 12 pts
"Azzarello does a great job in the second half of the book as we see the events of the past unfold. I still have this "Superman: King of the World" feeling about the entire story though. Lee's art was a little worse this issue and the dark angry Superman with glowing red eyes is beginning to irritate me." Krypton King, DC Message Boards
5. The Losers #12, 10 pts
"Great conclusion to the arc. The subplot has Agent Sanderson (who's really growing on me as a character for some reason) being thrown from the frying pan into the fire. The only thing I can find to gripe about is that Jensen's wisecracks are getting a bit stale, but why nitpick?" Aziraphale, DC Message Boards
6. Supreme Power #10, 9 pts
Lots of flirting and female anatomy this issue, but only a little bit of the depth that has made this series good so far. Possibly that depth will return next issue.
7. Green Lantern #177, 7 pts
Great characterization this time. This has the making of probably the best Kyle story, although again that doesn't mean I will want more when it is over.
8. Conan #4, 5 pts

"I'm really enjoying this book. Nord's art is different than on any other book I read, and you can tell that Busiek's knowledge of Conan includes not just Thomas' stories, but Howard's as well." Comic Reader Lad, DC Message Boards
(tied for 9th) Catwoman #31, 4 pts
"Attention: Gratuitous fanboy hottie ogling alert! Okay, now that that's outta the way, let me just say that Ed Brubaker may have started out with an old premise, by the end, he made the story his own with the Beti-Ma prince sealing his own fate." creepingterror, DC Message Boards
(tied for 9th) Caper #8, 4 pts
"Judd Winick brings one of the most surprising twists that I've ever seen in a comic in the conclusion of his second arc of Caper, "Hollywood Treatment." What makes the twist truly great is that the clues were all there, but they were hidden enough the the twist would truly shock the reader. Meanwhile, Winick doesn't skimp on the character interaction that made this book so strong in the first place. The great John Severin, of course, holds up his end of the story with his soft and realistic style of art. With amazing plot elements, amazing character elements, and amazing art, Caper is truly one of the best mini-series that DC has EVER published. Too bad no one is reading it." (tied for 9th) JLA #99, 4 pts
The best issue of Byrne & Claremont's run, although I am not left wanting more. A good ending for a JLA story. I hope the Doom Patrol series is good, but I have my doubts.
(tied for 9th) Promethea #30, 4 pts
Apparently, the world is ending with a whimper, but an intriguing whimper. No real innovations from Moore this time, but with enough depth to make it worthwhile.
(tied for 9th) The Moth #2, 4 pts

"I'm really enjoying this series. Can a fun comic book still exist in today's grim 'n gritty market? I hope so. Heck, it's worth buying just for Steve Rude's artwork, and I don't say that about many artists." Comic Reader Lad, DC Message Boards
(tied for 9th) Batman #628, 4 pts
"I'm really enjoying Winnick's take on the Penguin and the Scarecrow. Batman seems like a secondary character in his own book, but I don't have a problem with that right now. I must say I enjoyed the banter between Bats and Tim, especially with recent events as they are." apokolips, DC Message Boards

20. The Avengers #83, Secret War #2, Battle Royale Vol. 7, Ultimate X-Men #46, Common Grounds #5, The Punisher #6, The Authority: More Kev #1, 2 pts
27. Mystique #15, Way of the Rat #24, John Constantine: Hellblazer #196, 1 pt
