Highschool of the Dead-Trailer (New 2010 Anime)

The new anime, “High School of the Dead” premiers today at the Anime Network. The anime version of the Japanese manga was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and is also premiering on Japan today. Sentai will also release a dub of the series to widen its audience.

High School of the Dead also known as Gakuen Mokushiroku or “Academy Apocalypse” is an original Japanese manga written by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shouji Sato. It appears in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age since September 2006.

The manga had been recently revived last February 9, 2010 after in was in hiatus since end of 2008. The next chapter of the manga will be released on July 9.

The series follows a group of Japanese high school students caught in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. As the story suggests the whole world is taken over by a deadly disease where humans become zombies.

The setting of the story is at Fujimi High School where the school nurse bands together withs several students in order to survive the deadly disease.
