Welcome back, yet again, for another week here at News Pop!. We're glad you could join us as we pass on word of the latest happenings in the video gaming world. Today's edition, as we will try to do every Monday until the coming of the new year, we start by letting you know what new games are available for download for the Wii's Virtual Console. So let's get things started.

Newest Virtual Console games


This week, Nintendo released four new titles for Virtual Console. The four games are Ice Hockey, originally from NES, Gunstar Heroes and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, originally from Sega Genesis and Alien Crush, originally from TurboGrafx16. The prices are still respective to the systems so NES games are 500 Wii Points, Genesis games are 800 Wii Points and TurboGrafx16 games are 600 Wii Points.

Sega and Fox team up


Sega and Twentieth Century Fox announced a worldwide exclusive agreement today. The agreement will bring game content based on the Alien film franchise t o next gen systems. The agreement is multi-title and includes a first-person shooter and an RPG, which are currently in the first stages of production, the first of which is set to be released in 2009. “As a direct result of Fox’s efforts over the past 27 years, Alien has become one of the most recognized franchises in the motion picture industry,” said Simon Jeffery, President and Chief Operating Officer, Sega of America, Inc. “Sega will utilize the power of next-gen systems to blend the time-honored story with leading edge design technology to deliver a riveting and suspenseful gameplay experience.” For more information on Sega's Alien games as it becomes available, you can check out the companies' website at www.sega.com/aliens.
