New mobile game developer in town
A
group of industry veterans, formerly of Activision and Gameloft, have
banded together to create Massively Mobile, a new game development
studio for mobile devices. Massively Mobile has created a proprietary
engine for mobile devices, which will allow it to deliver single and
multiplayer gaming experience, utilizing the “unique advantages”
of the mobile platfo
rm so
players can have experiences not possible on other platforms. The
details of the unique advantages spoken about were not mentioned in
any way.
"For
too long, the mobile platform has been treated as the red-headed
stepchild of 'real' gaming,” says founding member and Creative
Director, Demetri Detsaridis.
The
team involved has worked on a number of major titles including
Gameloft's Asphalt series and True Crime: Streets of L.A. With a team
mixed between vets from the mobile and video game industry working
together, this could just thrust mobile gaming into a new era.
Ncsoft ships Guild Wars Nightfall
NCsoft's
long awaited online RPG has begun shipping and should be available in
stores tomorrow, October 27th. This latest campaign in the
Guild Wars franchise has some interesting new features. Heroes
– customizable companions that level up with you, use weapons and
skills of your choosing, and go forth with you into battle. Hero
Battles – the ultimate one-on-one challenge, that allow two
players, and their Heroes, to compete against one another in new PVP
gameplay and templates that let players save, store, and exchange
Hero builds, providing countless combinations to create the ultimate
team of Heroes. There are also twenty new missions to be played in
the game, hundreds of new skills and new ways for players to
customize their characters. The game is available in two editions,
the regular edition and the Collector's Edition, which includes the
Making of Guild Wars Nightfall DVD, a collector's art book, skill
pins, a character mini “standee”, a poster-sized map of Elona and
the Nightfall soundtrack CD. The game also comes with one other extra

yesterday's News Pop!. A PlaySmart tips card will be included in both
editions of the game. Guild Wars Nightfall will be available,
tomorrow, for $49.99 USD and CAD and the Collector's Edition will be
